Spotlight on: Rebecca Casciano, Green Beauty Makeup Artist and Champion, Certified Wellness Coach and Founder of Sacred Beauty Movement.

It’s hard not to be a fan of Rebecca Casciano when you see her makeup artistry skills at work, which has appeared in prestige publications like ELLE, but even more so for her passion and compassion to helping women look and feel their best through the promotion of self-love and sisterhood and the celebration of our unique beauty from our inner and outer self. We think you’ll get a good sense of this from our Q&A with Rebecca and may also feel inspired (as we were) as you get to know her more 🙂 . Find out interesting tidbits about her from what her alter ego career would be to her favorite makeup project to date and who inspires her most.

What’s the best way to start the day?

With gratitude and self-care. I’m not what you would call a morning person, so my morning rituals are really important for me. I aspire to meditate, say a prayer and move my body first thing in the morning. I also love to journal, read something inspirational and of course, drink a glass of water with lemon! And coffee 🙂

How much time do you spend on your daily beauty regimen and what does that look like?

I spend about 15 minutes a day on my beauty rituals, which includes my skincare and makeup application. In the morning, I wash my face in the shower, then mist it with a hydrosol. Before my makeup application, I apply a moisturizer, sunscreen and lip balm. I like to think my makeup is pretty simple but does include several products: foundation, concealer, powder, blush, brows, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick. Some days I skip all or a few of these items! In the evening, I wash my face, clean my makeup off and then apply a heavier balm or oil for more nourishment while I sleep.

If you weren’t a MUA or Founder of Sacred Beauty Movement, what job do you think you’d be really good at?

I would like to think I would make a good counselor, therapist or women’s rights activist.

What book has impacted you the most OR what is your favorite book and why?

Oh, so many books have impacted me in positive ways. A few of my favorites are: A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson, Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert, Absolute Beauty by Pratima Raichur and Pussy by Regena Thomashauer. Each one of them has inspired how I think about life, beauty and being a woman.

What would be the most amazing adventure to go on?

I would love to take a year or so to travel the world, exploring different cultures and the role beauty plays in them.

What was the most fun or most memorable makeup artistry work you’ve done and why?

One of them has to be the Beauty Heroes “Love More” video I worked on last summer. The video featured Beauty Heroes founder Jeannie Jarnot, along with several clean beauty brand founders who are committed to creating a safer, healthier beauty industry and world. In the video, they each talked about their approach and how they choose to “Use less and love more.” in their own lives and businesses. It was so inspiring to work with so many incredible women (and one man) who are passionate about creating positive change on so many levels.

Who inspires you to do better?

My life partner, Deepu. We are both very much committed to personal growth, which helps us inspire and support one another. He knows both my strengths and challenges and always encourages me to do my best, no matter what. He is also a highly motivated, productive and positive person so I can’t help but be inspired by him everyday!

What advice would you offer people who are consciously seeking to live their best life?

You are on the right path and don’t let anyone tell you different. To seek happiness, health, beauty, connection, service, peace and abundance is the essence of life.

What is your favorite HAN product?

I truly can’t choose just one! I think the whole line is really great quality and performance. My go-to’s have become the concealer, eyeshadow and blush. Keep up the wonderful work, HAN!
